Mohamed Abu Rayyan was born and raised in Makkah, and has been working in the Hajj and Umrah field since the year 2000. He comes from a family deeply connected to the city of Makkah. His brothers were also born and raised there, and they work alongside him as trusted guides for the groups that travel with Tarteel.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hadith and its sciences from Dar Al-Hadith Al-Khayriyyah in Makkah, and a Diploma in Hadith and Tafsir from Dar al-Arqam ibn Abil-Arqam. He also holds an Ijazah (formal license to teach and narrate) in Sahih Al-Bukhari from Shaykh Muhammad Ali Adam Al-Wallawi Al-Ethyoobi, and an Ijazah in the 7 Qiraa'aat (styles of Quran recitation) from Shaykh Muhammad Nabhan Misri al Hamawi.
He currently serves as the Imam of Masjid Furqan in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
